Medusa
The classic story of Medusa is she was either an extreme beauty or a gorgon monster… regardless she was raped by Poseidon in a temple of Athena.
After Athena found out about this atrocity her first thought was I must make her ugly and turned her head of hair to living and writhing snakes that would turn any man who looked at her to stone, some would see this as reasonable…
It comes to be that Perseus is sent to kill Medusa, he is given much help to achieve this from his mirrored shield, gold winged sandals, a sword from Hephaestus, Hades helm of invisibility. Each of these alone are major weapons.
What most people do not know is that Medusa was pregnant with two children from Poseidon.
When she was beheaded by Perseus she “birthed” Pegasus, the winged horse, and Chrysaor, a giant wielding a golden sword. Yes, both of those sprang from her body I don’t know how is mythology.
There are many philosophical interpretations of this, in fact Freud suggested it was related to fear of castration.
Anyway back to the topic at hand.
What if Medusa won.
Was she bad or evil?
To quote a classic, Wreck it Ralph, just because you are a bad guy doesn’t mean you’re a bad guy (or girl or gorgon in this case).
