Army Spc. David E. Hickman died November 14, 2011 serving during Operation New Dawn. Hickman, 23, of Greensboro, NC; assigned to 2nd Battalion, 325th Airborne Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, NC; died Nov. 14, in Baghdad of injuries caused by an IED.


Hickman was a black belt in taekwondo and a standout linebacker for his high school football team. His nickname was Zeus due to his impressive physique.


He is survived by his wife, Calli; parents, David and Veronica; and brother, Devon.
