“People say that what we’re all seeking is a meaning for life. I don’t think that’s what we’re really seeking. I think that what we’re seeking is an experience of being alive, so that our life experiences on the purely physical plane will have resonances with our own innermost being and reality, so that we actually feel the rapture of being alive.”
-Joseph Campbell

Daedalus

Quested by King Minos of creating a vast and complex labrynith to house the Minotaur.

His success led to Minos imprisoning Daedalus and his sun Icarus in a tower.

Daedalus used his ingenuity and cunning to create wings from which he and his son would be able to fly from the tower. You probably recall the story of Icarus flying too close to the sun and his wings glue melting and his falling to his untimely death.

Daedalus landed, buried his sons body and then resumed his flight to Sicily.
